Ok they were acquitted. Lack of (of course being a P.O. he knows not to leave traces) evidence, period. Who's to say if this broad didn't suffer from buyer's remorse after banging this dude? That being said I understand why the scumbag Moreno was fired. He was a 40+ year old man who should know better. At the same time...who knows what really happened in that room? I've had similar experiences with women who had trouble getting home. Wanted to feel "safe" or whatever. Once in the bedroom they touch on you, want to express (not generalizing, some make it clear they were hoping you're a gentleman) their "gratitude" etc. Why is it ok for a woman to blame her lack of judgement, inhibition on alcohol but when a man does it he's an excuse making piece of shit? What really bothers me is the termination of Mata. He was just a young rookie who didn't want to be labeled (sure a lot of holier than thou assholes will claim they would've done the right thing but you never really know what you're going to do until in that situation) as a snitch. They couldn't extend his probation? It may not seem like a big deal but to be fired from civil (particularly law enforcement) service is a scarlet letter employment wise. He might as well have done time. If Moreno actually raped her I sympathize but that's a lot of power for some broad to wield over two men's lives simply on her word. Something's wrong with this picture.
