Good, I need a new job. My lazy boss fired the three people who reported to him (including me). This was to cover-up his lack of action on many, many items. He just doesn't make decisions or get involved in the business at all. How to hide that? Fire everyone who might report you. The company has literally fired ~40% of its management base in the last six months.

I swear, the business world is very cutthroat. I'm happy that I have a supplemental income or else I'd be sleeping under a bridge.

Already had a good interview, so let's hope the transition isn't too painful.

Economists trying to make things look rosey because market correction is currently underway.

They only track people collecting unemployment benefits. If you're unemployed and not collecting benefits you're not considered "unemployed".

I've always thought it was horseshit that they exclude people who have simply given up looking for work.

I'm "employed," but part time, on call, and no benefits. :banghead: Paying $200/month for bare-bones insurance - and that was a good deal.

If you want a minimum wage, part time job at a fast food joint, then yes, I see plenty of Help Wanted signs out there. Otherwise, you're shit out of luck.

I am actually doing better than ever, but that is the result of smart choices and hard work.

Meanwhile, U-6 unemployment rate is at 11%, wages remained flat last month (overall, they're down significantly under Obama), the labor force participation rate is the lowest it's been in 37 years, and GDP growth has come to a virtual standstill again (2.6% revised down to 2.0% last quarter).

The only reason the unemployment number dropped was fewer people were looking for work last month, which isn't a good sign (unemployment rate does not count people who are underemployed or who have given up looking for work)

But if you're in the market for a part time or low-paying job, you're in luck. :thumbup2:

92,000,000 able-bodied people without jobs and we're told Obama has us at full employment.

And you trust the mainstream media? :hilarious:

This is the way these stats have been reported for a long time. It is definitely bullshit, but its been that way through many administrations, both D and R. It has nothing to do with the media. These are the numbers that both parties use to gauge how well the economy is going. IF you use these numbers when things are good, you can't say that the numbers are BS when they aren't good for you.

It's all low paying jobs. Some poor sap went from making 75k a year, to no more jobs in his field. Had to start delivering pizza. Sure he is employed but is making about 50k less then he used to.
