I ordered a piece of furniture the last time I was in the Amish area in Indiana. Yesterday ended up being delivery day. Several young Amish people showed up at my door. I assume some were Mennonites or hired townies because someone had to drive the delivery truck. It must be kind of a treat for the younger ones to get to the city because they brought a young woman with them. She was in the Amish outfit with the hat and long, brown, plain dress. She asked to use my bathroom. It isn't anything luxurious but I imagine an indoor bathroom with running water must be like heaven to them, especially in the winter. Anyway, that's my story. Diminish it all you want but how many of you can say you've had an Amish woman in your bathroom, other than Amish girl, of course. Answering a sure to be asked question in advance, no attempt at sexual gratification was made as jokeland isn't in to the scatological stuff.
When shopping for a house a few years back I looked at an Amish built/owned house. It had full plumbing.
It had wiring in the walls and mapped out with no city connection as well so maybe you are right. I just assumed plumbing was OK but electrical wasn't. I don't recall an outhouse on the property either.
I think it depends on the sect, but a lot of Amish homes do have indoor plumbing. Probably like a health issue, you know?
a furniture delivery guy asked to use my bathroom when I wasn`t there,my wife said yes, thankfully it was fast so likely piss not shit.
@jokeland , did you order it up in Shipshewana? I always wanted to go there when I lived in Indiana but never made it. Several people I know had furniture made there.
yes I don't think the furniture is particularly stylish but it is well built and is good in secondary type rooms
