Is this what all his new pens are for?
I became a Mason so that I could join the Shriners (have to do the first before the latter).
There is no secret society bullshit. There is nothing special about it. It was kinda of a letdown.
they chose you, obviously, you were not deemed worthy of indoctrination into the (secret) society
This is the first post from you that has made any sense at all
Besides my group of friends that did it with me, it is a bunch of old fucking geezers that use it as a way to get out of the house and away from their wives.
There is no secret society, special privilege thing to do with the Masons. People are just always looking for something to conspiracize.
So there is no secret hand shake or password to get out of speeding tickets?
I was working a Shriner circus last year, and the cop who pulled me over noticed my shirt and let me go.
That's about it
People think they do all these wacky, secretive things... and it couldn't be further from the truth. To be honest, I stopped going to regular meetings because it's a waste of time. I help out when we do some fundraising stuff for charity and all that, but that's about it. People who care enough to speculate what goes on in a Lodge would be greatly disappointed.
it's a great venue for stripper parties, and what not
There are no stripper parties. Maybe some Lodge went rogue and threw one and got busted...it happens. But there are no parties in general. There are regular meetings, in which nothing special happens, and that's about it. Go to your local city council meeting, and it will be about the same.
They don't even allow alcohol on the grounds. We tried to throw a bags (cornhole) tournament on our parking lot, and were told we couldn't even have alcohol out there.
I know you are a conspiracy theorist that likes to dig into things you don't know about, but trust me, you are wasting your time with the Freemason thing.
I'm down with the Masons
so what is... a club for men?
and whats with all the blacks becoming masons?
About completely accurate.
I know it sounds stupid, but we took an oath in a boring ceremony not to discuss things that happen. I honor oaths like that out of respect for the guys who take it serious, but it is nothing great and eye opening about it. If I told you now, you would just shrug your shoulders and say, "huh, that's it?"
There is nothing over-the-top special about being inducted....it's boring. There is nothing special that goes on in the meetings...it's mostly just honoring old tradition.
i'm speaking from my own experience, your knowledge may vary...
People vary from place to place, in everything in life. Some take things seriously, and others take advantage of the situation they are in.
If guys are hosting stripper parties, or parties of any sort, then they are taking advantage of having a place to do it at. It has NOTHING to do with masonry. It's just guys using what they have.
It is interesting to read what you are willing to discuss about this topic. We have some longtime family friends who joined and constantly perpetuate the secrecy and mystery of what goes on in these meetings. It feels forced and now it sounds like they are trying to make something out of nothing.
