    WTH? WTF?
    HBO miniseries from I think 2005.
    Good but odd.
    Real but surreal.
    Truth but fantasy.
    Anyone see this?

    I love this mini series. It was originally a play and won a Pulitzer Prize.

    It was odd in places, but overall really good.

    "And the Band Played On" is a great backstory about the Aids epidemic and the Dr's who were desperate to find a cure;

    And The Band Played On is the reason I cant listen to Elton Johns The Last Song. I cry every time.

    It does bring the tears. HBO has the magic touch when it comes to original programming. Alan Alda had the perfect role in that movie. "that's the reason for this call"

    It is strange sometimes to bring plays to the screen - agreed. Especially something like AiA, which was so timely when it was produced in the early 90s during that part of the AIDS crisis.

    No joke, I was in CVS once and that song came on. I really tried but I had to hide in the bathroom from crying. Elton John that bastard.
