I'm going to see anna Karenina today, even though I've heard this version isn't very good - it's my favourite novel, and after all, I was an English Major.

The PRICE FOR A MATINEE IS $8.50???!!!! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? A MATINEE???!!! :nooo:

Just got back - and it's raining here, perfect overcast weather, sipping a glass of wine...

The film fell into the trap of style over substance at times (well, okay a lot of the time) - but that's not to say it wasn't good. I think it would be hard to follow, if you haven't read the book. I thought the infamous suicide scene was done perfectly, much, much better than the version with Sean Bean/Sophie Marceau....

I felt a lot more sympathy for Anna's husband in this version, too.

Cinemark theaters here charge $4.00 for movies until 5:00 PM. I think $9.50 is full fare but I'm not sure. Wife always buys them while I'm parking.
