You don't know about Copyright Trolling? :uscratch:
EDIT: OH, I just got what you meant by that. The downside to those anonymizing services is that people use them for a whole host of reasons, including really bad ones like the underage porn mentioned in the article. The same thing is true of VPNs and Usenet, though.

I can't wait to hear Steve Gibson talk about this. He was loving on the services not that long ago but he hates java.

That's why I'm not too sure about this yet. The guy is a real scumbag and deserved to go down, but I have to wonder if the child porn angle was the real motive or if they are really trying to stop all anonymizing services? This came right after the announcement that Visa and Mastercard will no longer let VPN providers accept them, so I'm wondering if the next shoe to drop will be an attempt to go after Usenet and VPNs. Usenet providers have really cracked down on people abusing them for nefarious purposes, while Tor has been the Wild West in a way of speaking, so I think whether this is the end or the first of many to go down will be telling.

slightly off topic, a certain file sharing site that has to do with pirates seems to be having a lot of trouble lately. the end of free media and anonymous browsing is coming to an end :nocheer:

It's not just about stealing, as the article pointed out
I don't use Tor, but I do use a VPN because I don't like my ISP throttling my bandwith for LEGALLY using Bit Torrent.
