Alabama teacher indicted on sex charges after allegedly desiring to take student’s virginity BY Nicole Hensley NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Published: Friday, March 13, 2015, 11:02 AM Updated: Friday, March 13, 2015, 12:50 PM Blount County Sheriff's Office Ashley Parkins Pruitt, 28, an Applachian High School English teacher has been indicted on a handful of sex charges following last year’s allegation’s that she had oral sex with an underaged student. An Alabama teacher was removed from her school and brought up on sex charges after an alleged sexual relationship with three underaged students. Ashley Parkins Pruitt was formally charged in January but the rap was announced only this week, the Birmingham News reported. She is accused of having oral sex with one student and kissing another inside a parked car in Oneonta, where she taught English at Appalachian High School. Pruitt was reported to have said she wanted to take a victim’s virginity. She allegedly used Snapchat to send lewd photos of her body parts and coordinate sexual encounters with at least two students, authorities said. She is charged with two counts of providing pornography to a minor, two counts of sexual acts with a student and one count of having sexual contact with a student. She is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Pruitt turned herself into Blount County investigators after a warrant was issued for her arrest on Nov. 13. A date for Pruitt’s trial has not been set.
