He was a "big fan"?
Oh sure. Anthony loved Stern in the good old days. Nowadays not so much. Kind of like everyone on this board.
Anthony has never pretended to be anything besides a massive Howard fan when the show was great.
All I know from the O&A show is the clips that got posted here of them busting Howards balls.
This clip has been looked back on and discussed multiple times on both shows.
Billy's jackie impression was always hilarious minus the fact that it never actually sounded much like Jackie except for some of the laughs. I always wondered why everyone just imitated the Billy impression instead of actually trying to get Jackie's voice accurately.
Anthony is a talent and proved it here. If Opie wasn't such a worthless bore they could have toppled the Wigged Wonder.
They went after Howard after he went behind their back to management, who forced them never to mention Howard on air or they would get fined.
Guess the Shed name of the last guy on there with the Hitler stache'.
I like Jackie's attire in that clip. He had a good sense of style back then.
I dunno if the clip includes it, but his Kinison is fucking horrible. Sounds more like David Lee Roth.
I also like when Booey intimates their show is a Stern clone ("he sort of does your show") and Anthony doesn't deny it.
C'mon, I know you "Ant" worshippers like to act like "of course Anthony loved Stern" blah blah, but, I've heard him rant even now how he hated that Stern called them clones and that they weren't doing the same show and how that unfair labeling is the crux of their discontent toward Stern (made worse by the gag-order).
But during this old clip, Anthony friggin' responds to Booey labeling the Opie Show as a Stern Show-wannabe with "he's a big fan! As we all are! Who isn't!?" Dude cops to it in front of Stern outright.
The "laugh-off" of Billy West imitating a string of Jackie guffaws really showcases his talent for mimicry. Ok, maybe not all of the imitations were perfect, but this clip is one of my all-time favorites:
Oh, and during the second Stuttering John appearance on the Anthony Cumia Show, he says exactly,
"Stern will always be the premiere broadcaster. And he will always be the best at what he does."
In 2015? THE BEST? ALWAYS!? Really? This ain't the same Cumia you all were slobbering over like Scooby Doo a year ago, the one who shit on Stern's crappy cat shows and implied the dude lost it in the early 90s. Admit it.
IN the Whole Recent Dueling Anthony And Opie DUELING STATEMENTS
Anthony pretty much said
and I paraphrase
That the Vitriol towards Howard was driven by Opies flawed character of having a big bowl of gold but looking at Howard with an even bigger bowl than his and feeling INSTULTED because he doesn't have a bowl of gold as big as howards.
When in Anthony's perspective it was "FUCK YEAH A BOWL OF GOLD"
