Does anyone here put sugar or red wine in their sauce? I've been making sauce for over 20 years and I don't use either because I learned my way from my grandmother. Seems like a lot of non-italians who make sauce put sugar or wine in it to cut acidity. My sauce isn't acidic so I have no idea what they're talking about. We drink red wine with our macaroni on Sundays but we don't put it in the sauce. Opinions? Edit: Howard related because he likes sauce on side.
