I am reading Brutal which is told by Kevin Weeks, an errand boy for Whitey Bulger. I have next the book by Howie Carr called Rifleman, which is about Bulger's hit man, Steve "the Rifleman" Flemmi.

There are a bunch of others, but I want to sort the shit from the solid reads.

any body here have any experience reading this stuff?

after the Boston Irish Mob books, I want to try out some Mexican cartel books.

Did you like how Whitey had that car made that could squirt slippery oil from behind it if he was ever in pursuit by cops as well releasing a cloud of smoke?

how many more people do you think are buried around Boston we don't know about?

I didn't know this, but in the early 90s I worked a little Italian newspaper on Prince Street in the North End, pretty close to where these guys did their business. I remember Italian guidos coming into the office with something they wrote filled with spelling mistakes and so on, but you never dared to change a thing they wrote.

I can imagine . . . reading about him and his people, they are amoral scumbags for sure. In the grand theatre of humanity, it is startling what the trajectory of the human condition encompasses.
