anyone watching the race on NBC? I love NASCAR, go to multiple races a year and watch each race on tv so I say this with all sincerity.....is it really wise to have these guys racing this late at night now that amphetamines aren't allowed and tested for?

I've got a few extra hours to sleep tomorrow, so I'm in and watching. Gilliland can not drive a car to save his life. Might as well put huge turning blinkers on his car.

Yeah, rain. Was supposed to start at 745. This race is usually ran on the Saturday night of the 4th holiday weekend, since 1988.....before that it was ran on the 4th. When NBC won the rights for this year, this being their first race, they decided to move it to Sunday night and use some of their 'Sunday night football' magic on the event

the reason they racing this late is because the drivers want to get back to the shop in north Carolina and get ready for the Kentucky race. they after leave for Kentucky Thursday.

if they raced on Monday they will have work a lot harder at the shop on Tuesday and Wednesday to get ready for Thursday.

I'm sure that factors into it but to their credit, a lot of fans are still there too. Plus no matter what, NBC will still have better numbers running the race this late than they would if they did it during the day on Monday. This is prime time for west coast fans. And some of us dumbass east coast fans are still watching. I still wish they had done things as usual and ran it in Saturday night.

Might have been down but their plan tonight was to go head to head against the Women's World Cup final and they would have gotten slaughtered by that. I'm curious to see what number that ended up pulling, it will be pretty big for Fox.

I'm on the west coast and going to bed soon but taping it on the dvr. No way NBC was going to let them postpone the race until tomorrow

I got 10 on Kurt Busch to win 120 and 10 on Hamlin to win 150 but Junior looks like he has the car to beat :grad:

I go to both Bristol races. For the night race in August me and some friends camp all weekend. I get two free tickets to both of those through the USO and I live an hour away so it is a no brainier. I also go to at least one race in Martinsville, two of the three (counting the all star race) in charlotte and darlington. I really want to go to talladega but I'm in the national guard and drill weekend always seems to fall during those.

It's still on, I know a little. Didn't know it was Daytona, don't really care for the restrictor plate racing, but nothing else is on. I usually will watch the last few laps of a race if I stumble onto it.
