I've been pretty happy with my Verizon FIOS TV/internet/phone bundle over the last several years, but I received a letter a couple months ago announcing that Frontier Communications had purchased all of Verizon's customers in California and a few other states. The official changeover took effect on 1 April and thus far anyway, the transition's been something of a goat rope. It's been a week now and we still don't have basic services like any of our On Demand programming or access to the previously aired content that many of the cable networks make available free online if you sign in through your cable provider. Just registering the new account at their website is a 24 hour process as we wait for their "database to update" and while live chatting with one of their cust svc people, I received one actual message in about a 15 minute period. :jj:

Anyway, not really bitching just yet, but I was curious if we had any long standing Frontier customers here and what their opinion of the company might be. All I know is that Frontier never impressed me much as an airline. ;)

I heard it's gonna be a few weeks before they get that fixed.

I dumped FIOS TV after the transition to Frontier. I have ATT coming out today...the big reason was to get back my ATT unlimited data plans that they are now offering with Direct TV. I will now suffer through shit compressed images that don't work when the wind blows.

But yes, Frontier should have everything worked out this week apparently. I was really pissed when I woke up Saturday to realize I couldn't access NBC Live Sports Extra.

You're better off with frontier, Verizon only cares about wireless they invest the bare minimum on the wireline business. Frontier seems to want to build up thier wireline business so that's good for its customers.

AT&T sold SNET to Frontier in CT, and its a tragedy and a travesty.

Same here though I haven't noticed a single issue. Then again, I don't have their ondemand as I use a cable card.

Had Frontier for a few years and they are the jv team of cable companies. My bill was never right in that time and was always overcharged. It took a couple of days and several calls to order the NHL Centerice. No one there knew what I was talking about. Good luck.

My mom has the whole Varizon package and lives in So.Cal., her phone has been screwed up for a week now, EVERY TIME I try to call, the phone either just goes dead or has a busy signal.

Ugh. That doesn't sound good. And the bitch of it is, I had just resigned with Verizon for like 24 months to get a nice added discount on my bundled service.

Frontier sucks big hairy ball sack in every way imaginable. I was an ATT Uverse customer. Frontier came in and the product and the service are as bad as any company I've ever dealt with.

Get ready for slow WIFI speeds (like a 14.4 dial up type speed). And your TV will go out several times a week for no reason whatsoever.

Cant get Direct TV at my house because of all the trees and the only other option in my town is Charter cable, which is way more expensive.

    Basically, your fucked.

Man I miss FIOS. We have shit TWC and it's awful. If I turn on Netflix my speed drops from 50mb to < .5mb. And the Claim that they are not throttling. :argh:

I do have to say that Frontier did make some massive changes (upgrade?) to it's TV system a couple of weeks ago and the HD is much clearer and the graphics, menus and such resemble Direct TV.

They did nothing to improve their WIFI though.

Get ready for lots of this....

HC...so how did that work buddy? The wife pays the fios bill here and we have been out of contract for a long time. She complains how high our bill is.
Can we call and try and get another 2 years "deal" locked in?

Thanks... BTW big fan big fan

We too had been out of contract for a good while. I had actually contacted them to upgrade the international portion of our phone service. It was then that the Verizon rep started going over the latest bundle deals. Turned out we could get the international phone service and increased internet speed for less than we were paying before. Might be worth making a call and pulling the old SiriusXM trick. Tell them you're thinking about switching providers because of the high price and see what they might be willing to offer. I think the prices on the bundle offers are pretty much set. Getting a better deal might be as simple as making the call.

    Good luck with Frontier.

I've heard nothing but horror stories about their customer service.
