Ok. Not a clever title. I used to live near Jupiter fl. I'm sure many of you have read about the 2 teen boys that went missing 3 weeks ago. Sometimes I get latched on to these stories and can't let it go. I am a boater, but naive about the ocean. They were in a inlet. They found the capsized boat. What the hell happened to them? Do bodies sink? I thought after a week they floated. People keep saying sharks got them. I guess that's possible. I'm afraid to ask anyone close to these boys, but could they be on some little island? Their names are Austin and Perry. Again, I can't let it go. If anyone can explain how tides work...or possible scenarios, I would love to hear them. The info I had was they were in a inlet. It is a rough one, been there. But to just vanish? Makes me so sad. Both are 14.

Bodies initially float and then they will bloat and sink. I am going with Occam's razor on this one. They were shithead kids who were not paying enough attention or they were fucking around and the boat capsized and they drowned. The end. Mommy and daddy can say all they want about their water abilities. Two 14 year olds don't go out alone in the ocean because their shitheads. I was once a 14 year old shithead as well

I'm drinking with the glass half full here.
I bet the boys are 'stranded' on some desert isle with the likes of these 2.
Not looking to be rescued. (At least until the next COD game comes out)

Tish - was following this also and saw when the family finally suspended their independent searches.

My guess is the boys drown... life jackets may have saved them, shame they weren't wearing them.

If the bodies never show up, I cannot imagine the horrible lifetime for those the parents of just not knowing what happened or having the ability to bury them.

    Sad all the way around.

very sad story, they were likely over confident and didn't have life jackets on---it doesn't take much for the ocean to overpower you. One may have gotten into some trouble, the other trying to help, it happens so often

They had 2 life jackets a yeti cooler missing too. I agree, at least if the bodies show up...there would be closure.
I guess that's my question, DO bodies show up?

this is how I can sleep at night. They ran away from home. Found ginger and Maryann (only 14 year old versions) but boy are they going to be in trouble! I joke but it's sad. It's when stuff happens where you live. Becomes so more real. One of the dads posted another sons first day of school pics today. Dad looks like death, but you have to carry on for the other kids.

    weather conditions? Sea state?

Type of boat? Suitable for ocean chop type stuff you could get in those waters?

    Experience level?

    Swimming ability?

Would they plan a disappearance on purpose?

    So many variables.

They were 14. Parents say top level sea experience. Great swimmers. Boat was foumd capsized. I think 19 ft. A sea craft. Missing a cooler and some life jackets.

Well they do exist! I'm mainly wondering if they'll ever find the bodies. I never followed a case like this. didn't Lacy Peterson wash up out of a ocean?

The SF Bay. Her torso washed up anyway. He head and limbs are attached to cement blocks on the floor of the bay. They say they'll never find them.

Oh. Yeah a bay is way different. I just don't feel like they were too far out. But the tides are so strong there.

I recall some amateur video of the storm that came in when they were out there. The vid was near land and it was still ominous. In open water it must have been horrifying. The sea has claimed them.
