Any techies recommend a good external hard drive at a decent price?

1 TB should be plenty of space. Just want to be able to back shit up in case the worst happens.

Toshiba Canvio has served me well. About $80 for 2tb and $60 for 1tb.

I bought one a few months ago for more XBox One space.. got a 3 TB Western Digital. Tiny, obviously more expensive than the 1 or 2 TB drives, but I'd recommend WD as well.

I wouldn't trust just one drive. Mirror or RAID that shit. With a disk of that size, when you lose it, it will be a metric shitload of data which you're losing.

Don't know about a good external hard drive, but Robin pleasures herself with a greased cucumber.

HDD prices are unbelievably low and capacities are enormous. Buy a couple-three, back up your backups and store one out of your house, wrapped in a box's worth of aluminum foil and sealed with metal tape, then sealed in a metal storage box. EMP. And use every free "Cloud" service you can think of.

The only issue I've ever had with a Western Digital drive was calling their Tech Support about some included software which upgraded itself and then refused to function. Level II was some bored-sounding 20-year old who basically told me tough shit, we're not supporting "old" Mac OS versions (Ok, then mention that upgrading the software that shipped with the fucking drive ("My Passport" about $99) will disable it.) I mean, this kid sounded like "I don't give a fuck and my mommy doesn't love me" which left me feeling rather unimpressed. But the drives seem bulletproof.

1TB thumb drives are nearly affordable. Nearly.
