So i get a call today, says no caller ID so i don't answer...They leave a voicemail, robot female stating i'm being sued by the IRS {doesn't use my name though} and leaves a #....I say to myself if i was being sued by them, they aren't leaving me a voicemail....So i google the number and sure as shit there's a whole page of others getting the call from the same #....I'd love to post the # here as a public service but don't know how the mods would feel about that

    Beware

My mom has, she called me in a panic.

I told her to ignore it and that the IRS won't call you, they will send you a letter.

Plus, she told me the guy had a Russian accent.

    Fucking Russians.

I don't answer calls coming from unfamiliar numbers figuring that if it's important they'll leave a factual message. Very few do. And sometimes I'll also slap that number into a google search and it always comes up associated with nuisance scams and solicitations. And yes, the IRS will send a certified letter and certainly would not be calling on a blocked ID.

No but the FBI locked up my computer. All I have to do is send the money to a foreign country. Sounds legit to me.

Death penalty for all scammers. Especially ones who prey on the elderly.

Got a fake call from the Police department. Caller had a thick Indian accident and hung up when we asked about verification. They spoofed the police department caller ID.

Got the same calls from a fucking Packi.

I'd love to drill one of those fuckers in the noggin with a ballpeen.

I've already fought the IRS for years so I know how the game is played.

...for those of you who have a phone server thats compatible i highly suggest you get nomorobo @ nomorobo.com or thru your phone provider. they block automated calls. your phone rings once and the call is gone. if a robo call gets thru you can report the number to nomorobo and they block it instantly from calling a second time. its a free service and its great not to be annoyed by those kinds of calls anymore. its fun and funny to block their calls because to them they just wasted time when they could be hooking in a sucker.

Except the scum bags have figured out how to spoof the number to look like is is from the IRS in Washington, DC. It's amazing how many gullible people can be. The scammer tells them that they have to go to the store and buy a greendot card, load it up with hundreds or thousands of dollars and give them the number over the phone to pay the bill. Do people really think that the IRS operates that way?

I used to scam bait for fun a bunch of years ago. if you don't know what that is, its where you answer those scam emails and pretend to believe what they are saying and string them along. wasting their time in hopes you are preventing them from getting a real victim.
yes, people do fall for these scams all the time otherwise those scammers would not do it. they mostly fool single women, elderly or people who don't understand English very well and are easily fooled.
here are some fun websites to check out scam baiting at its finest. you can burn hours reading them. they are hysterical:
    scamorama.com
    419eater.com
    scambaiter.com
    Macsbaitstore.com
just a few. really fun reads. enjoy and be wary!
