I mean their mind. My mom flipped on a cruise to SA about three years ago. I went to Chile to bring her home. She believes her dead husband isn't dead, but in the CIA. She thinks the republicans are out to get her. She thinks everything in her house is bugged. Has anyone else watched a total, unexpected breakdown before?

Is your mom getting up there in age? Old timers can become paranoid as dementia sets in.

When my folks passed (80's), mom was sharp but not as sharp as she once was. Pop had been irrational for a few years.

...my mom got like that, thought someone was coming in taking things when she wasnt there. she also got forgetful, and mean sometimes. it was hard to watch because she had such a great spirited life.

I thought my mom was nuts. I took a step back and realized she was suffering anxiety after my dad passed.
