Anybody here ever use archive.org for free downloads of public domain music?

    Besides all the Grateful Dead shows that are available, there is a core collective of people that have digitized their old vinyl and uploaded it for people to download.

    I just got fantastic early jazz and blues taken from old 78 rpm records.

    I also got a shitload of pdf books for my iPad, most of which was scanned from all of the major libraries.

    I am sure there must be tons more I haven't seen as of yet.

    i used to go there all the time. great library, virtually all in lossless format. :cheer:

    Thanks for the thread. I haven't been to that site in a long time and forgot about it. Just watched an episode of "Buffalo Bill, Jr" there, a 1950's Western. It was fun to watch.

    awesome! It is such a great resource. It pisses me off when these other sites charge people for access to public domain information that should be available to everybody, especially students and scholars, for research.

    I dont understand then . . . a remote server doesnt "upload" to your site if you are the one prompting it to send you bytes of information.
