I lasted 8 minutes and left the room
No UFC is on & SNL sucks
Thanks, for the warning,
Pete Davidson on Update has been the only laughs at all tonight. Only. Laughs. At. All.
What shit guests are on this week? I've never watched the show aside from skipping to see some musical performances. I've just never gotten its appeal. It spawned some great actors but I just hate all their skits.
This guy and his hair sang with Ariana Grande & I literally can't even. WHATTTT THE FFFFFFUCK.
When was the last time the show was good?
Every week I TiVo it and every week it ask why did I bother
Just finished watching "Saturday Night" documentary on Hulu+ by James Franco. It was good (better than SNL usually is). Made me forget SNL was even on. Almost makes you feel bad for all the work they put into the show (it's a LOT) and then it isn't even funny.
I caught half the show. Only good part was Leslie Jones' editorial on Weekend Update.
I generally can't stand SNL anymore, but I try to at least catch Weekend Update. It's usually reliable for some funny stuff, but I hate when they do one minute of jokes and then have a "character" come on and do 4 minutes of bullshit.
Oh, and I'm madly in love with Kate McKinnon
I've met Kate before and she is VERY pretty in person but, she plays for the other team...
I don't know that there's ever been a time when SNL had fewer recognizable faces than it does right at this moment. There may have been a couple of other eras - which followed in the immediate aftermath of those now infamous SNL "purges" - that come close, but I honestly think the current total lack of star power is unprecedented.
And that's a particularly bad combination considering the writing team has pretty consistently been shit since the day Tina Fey took over.
I watched SNL fairly regularly in the 80s and 90s, but nothing about the show appeals to me anymore. It's been too politically correct for well over a decade. Lorne Michaels simply won't risk ruffling his leftist friends.
For example, while a cast member might portray Obama in a sketch or two, he is merely a presence or a vehicle to move the story forward...never ever the butt of the joke.
I was going to watch it but then I noticed Blue Velvet was on and I watched that instead. I probably made the right choice.
HEINEKEN....FUCK THAT SHIT!
I haven't seen an episode of SNL since the early 80's (and even back then it sucked).
Does anyone remember when SNL would have actual musicians that were able to play and sing their own songs?
I watched an old SNL with Richard Pryor that was on at 10. The pussies at NBC ran a disclaimer, 'This show is from a different time. What was shocking then, might be considered offensive now'.
snl was great 35 years ago
Quite frankly, I haven't watched SNL in years. Decades, in fact. I think the last episode I saw still had Brad Hall and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the cast.
Probably the worst season premier in the shows history (and that's saying a lot). Truly awful.
Ever since they killed Al Gore in those debate skits, which seriously played a part in Bush getting traction, they have become very predictable and deliberate in their approach toavoiding hurt their "side" in any way.
