Specifically Crete? Either/or.....Tell me about it
Santorini, Athens, Mykonos
All before it went in the financial shithole but it was a great time. Organized the island hopping and stuff on my own. Used trip advisor and other websites.
Crete is nice. If you want the island experience without British assholes, try Hydra, Karpathos, Sifnos, Milos, etc.
I have. The islands are beautiful. Athens besides the ancient areas (Acropolis, Parthenon, Agora), total fucking shit hole.
Love the food and ouzo.
In Crete, are the roads super highwayish like the rest of europe?
Debating on getting the 800CC if they dont have the super fast highways
I love the 1200, but it's big as fuck LOL
Yes.... Rhodes and Santorini. I'm half Greek and speak it pretty well. I've heard Crete is very nice.
I was told santorini is beautiful, but very small....almost not worth it if you want to be on the move. Never thought about going to Crete until I spoke with someone who just came back
It's the word.
Correct - There are two types of Santorini guests.... day trippers who come in on cruise ships and hit the town for 6 hours to shop, eat and see the fantastic views. Type 2 (which is what we did) Stay for a week and just chill while looking out over the caldera all day. Short hikes, food, drinks, sunsets. Very low key. Not the party island like Mykonos. There is a beach side but that's not what it's known for.
Just my opinion of course.
cool, thanks man
Some guy named Tired's getting his hole filled over there right now.
I would love to see the temple of apollo where the pythia worked her magic..
aka the Oracle of Delphi
So much hatred
Ive been to Greece ten times including spending 3 weeks there last year. I spent a week in Haina, Crete about 25 years ago. Great city and amazing beaches with a good night life/Greek island charm. You can definitely spend a couple weeks there going to different parts of the island. If you're into rock climbing, go to Kalymnos island near Kos island. It has hosted world class competitions and it's inexpensive. My family is from there and ive spent a lot of time there.
I love Athens. Stay in Glyfada near the beaches and take a bus or cab into Athens to do sight seeing.
Stay away from all the popular Islands because they are huge tourist traps. Spend a few day in Athens just for the history.
Thanks Lar...what about Crete
Have never been just because it's too big.
It's a tourist trap like Mykonos. I've been to Mykonos and couldn't wait to get out of there. If you want your money to go farther stick to the smaller islands. Crete may be one of the more expensive places in Greece.
