Anyone else find it annoying when Howard compares Benjy's antics to Andy Kaufman?

Ever hear Howard compare Benjy to Andy Kaufman? He usually says it when the show nosedives into a vortex and spends way too much time on Benjy and his stupid antics. I think his point has to do with not knowing the real Benjy from his own shtick, but comparing him to Andy Kaufman?

Now I could be wrong, but there might be a slight difference between these two when it comes to things like talent, ability, likeability, intelligence, not being repulsive, etc.

You had to be there....Saw the Elvis thingy live....I don't know if it shows it, But when he first came out he was in his Lavka character....But what really grabbed everyones attention was what he did on ABC's "Fridays" With Micheal Richards.....

 

But Benjy isn't worthy to be the excrement on the botoom of Kaufmans shoe.......

It probably is that I just don't get it being from England, even back then when taxi was on I thought he was just annoying. As proven on this forum Russell Brand has the ssame reaction in the US

 

Im not a huge kaufman fan but to compare that greasy retarded tub of goo benji to him is an insult to andys comedy and legacy and insulting to any real comedian or comic actor who ever lived.

 

Neither are funny, but one was famous.

Did you see him do Elvis in that video? I mean the part where he actually sings. That was fucking amazing.

 

There's two major differences the main one being intelligence, the second is likability. Kaufman was intellectual and very likable. Benjy although some brushes with funny is neither.
