Anyone else notice their house's 'value' on Zillow lately?

Are we heading for another housing bubble?

I just looked my house up on Zillow and in the last 5 years (when I bought) and it is now almost $200,000 more than what I paid for and rising quickly

I know Zillow isn't 100% accurate but kind of surprised at how fast prices are going up again...

the structure which contributed to the burst in 2007 is still intact. federal regulations demand subprime rates, these are guaranteed (by the taxpayers). banks line up to float these, fannie or freddie guarantee them (by the taxpayers) if banks do not follow the federal regulations, the federal regulators will come down hard on them with fines etc.

in a nutshell, the federal government is creating a mess which will get blamed on "greedy" banks by the politicians

    1. No plans to sell so the value is fucking me in property taxes

    2. I wasn't stupid enough to buy at the height of the bubble last time and ruin my life like some people who had no patience

    3. I think history will repeat itself and people will take out money on their house and fuck themselves...

me i have a fixed rate and ain't touching shit

I was looking yesterday as a neighborhood place just closed for $100k less than the original asking price of 5 yrs ago, and Zillow has it selling for the original asking amount.

flood insurance is tough.. but I don't think that taxpayers should be forced to cover people dumb enough to rebuild in flood areas. One problem is that "flood zones" are getting larger and larger.

My place doesn't show any significant increase. In fact it still looks way down than what it was years ago.
