i have. it depends upon the club. I tried http://www.clubabc.com/ because they were very informal about their trip coordination: you could take advantage of their charter travel prices (they only booked the major commercial airlines), hotels, and tour, or you could just use their club as a discount travel source and make your own tour once you arrived. They run so many charters that even if the tour was only for 7 days, you could extend it at your own expense and return on one of their later flights back.
Never have, but it seems like it'd negate the fun of travel to me. If you're gonna spend good money to travel, it shouldn't be a democratic venture. I know that traveling alone could be intimidating and there's safety in numbers, but it's easy to be safe in most destinations without having to tag along in a group and follow an itinerary.
This, I have enough problems getting along with my own family on vacation, if I had to deal with strangers making decisions on what to do I'd never make it home.
Have not ever thought of joining one, but I could see the attraction in traveling with a group.... is there a requirement that you follow the groups itinerary or can you split off into smaller groups, or just do what you want and just take advantage of the bulk rate/discounts on flights and lodgings
would I have to share a room and transportation with the other members? then no.. but I would like to go do ayayaska in peru sometime
I'd be in but the shaman would get pissed at me, fuck the self awareness I likes me the pretty colors!
That's kinda what I did both times I went to Germany. You get the benefit of people who know the place, cheaper flights and lodging (I was a student do I stayed in a dorm) but still get time to wander off on your own. Ever think of taking a summer language class or art class where you want to go? Adults are welcome and it's a blast!
Great idea! My art history teacher was from northern Italy..he made that clear..NORTHERN Italy...and I made every class just to listen to him say chiaroscuro..
