I planted one 3 years ago....obviously 1st year, nothing....2nd year, only about 10 peaches & came out one morning, all gone (some animal had to eat them)....so this year, about 100 peaches on her but, it seems like they have stalled....a few are turning peach color but, they are not getting past this size??? Any info or suggestions out there?[IMG] [IMG]

They ate the bark in the winter and that killed them. I hoped they wouldn't die and was going to put a deterrent on them to stop it from happening again but they didn't survive when spring came. Fuckers. I had some wood for smoking pork though.

I'm allergic to peaches. The last time I had peaches was when I had peach pie when I was around 5 years old and I broke out with the hives.

I have peaches and like other deciduous fruits they are self regulating. Ok I'll keep it simple so it breaks down like this...each tree has lets say 100 units of energy. If you have 100 fruits then EACH fruit gets ONE unit of energy to grow. Now if you thin your flowers and peachlets to say 50 peaches then each fruit will receive 2 units of energy so they will size/color/sweeten up.

    1 Prune in the winter
2 Fertilize your trees twice a yr
    3 Thin flowers/peachlets
    4 water like a mofo

Cherries are much harder to grow so stick with peaches J.

Oh thinning means to knock off the flowers/remove the little fruits. You want each fruit spaced 6-10 inches apart depending on the age/vigor of the tree.

Thanks, Bud....see this is advice....I did not prune, I have not fertilized, watering is not a problem.....I'm gonna go out right now & space those fuckers out, they're clustered all over each other, maniacs.....
