Are you using the ketostix to check or do you just "know"? I think people that are on board with LCHF and keto know when their bodies are in ketosis. Mainly the difference for me is knowing that I'm not in ketosis, because I feel sluggish and shit starts hurting from the carbohydrate and triglyceride inflammation creeping back in.

    Thanks!

I have ketostix and I’m using those for the first few weeks, then I’ll start using the blood tester I got (https://keto-mojo.com).

Anyone doing meal prep this weekend?

I’m just gonna make an egg casserole for breakfast for the week (bacon, spinach, broccoli, Swiss, Parmesan and some white American).

And some taco meat. Good to microwave for a quick meal with withever good stuff you like (cheese, guacamole, etc..)

I made the chicken breast pizza crust today. Great stuff. I had several family members try it, nobody knew any different, they just thought it was a thin crust pizza. Very simple to make as well.

Well. I really had my keto locked in a few days before Thanksgiving. I really struggled with some bad side effects from cutting out carbs. Last time it went smoothly (3 years ago) but this time I was starting from a much higher weight. So my body chemistry was really resistant to the change this time around.
Anyway , I didn't hold back on Thanksgiving and just ate what I wanted. I definitely gained back 2 lbs and def dropped out of ketosis but not all the way. I'm back on track so it will take a couple of days but it made the Thanksgiving meal all the more memorable so there is that!

What are your plans for holiday food and treats? I'm making a keto coconut custard pie and keto cookies. But I'm going to relax my carb rules and not hold back too much. I'll eat protein where I can find it

I just saw an ad for bacon wrapped little smokies. Perfect!!

I am in the process of phasing out all “treats”.
I ditched the sugar free Russel Stovers candy and the CarbSmart ice cream over a month ago.
I am now (trying to) cut way back on my Lavash Bread and low carb tortillas. I almost always stay under 20 net carbs a day but have read that these items are still no good.

Back to basics. Meat, veggies, cheese.
Down almost 70 lbs (and LOTS of inches) since May.

Did you use ground chicken or the canned chicken?
    I’ve seen both recipes.

My favourite treat at the moment is heated berries/cherries with a "whipped cream" I make. Whipping cream, cream cheese, coconut cream and a sweetener blend of erythritol/monk fruit.

As for bacon wrapped, I make bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese. Love these. If I don't have jalapenos, I'll use any other peppers I have in the fridge.

I've done both now. Whenever I have leftover chicken or turkey, I'll make the crusts out of it. For other times, I've been using Kirkland canned chicken from Costco.

I need to try it. You like the canned recipe?

I’ve just been making pizza on Lavash bread, but I’m trying to phase that out of my diet.

Yes, I like them both. I prefer to use fresh over canned, but they're both good.

It happens quickly once you get into ketosis.

    :yay: That's awesome!!!

Like I have said in previous post, things are moving so slow for me this time. The biggest difference being that I am not getting to the gym like I did the last time I was doing no carbs.

However, that being said, I am down 30 pounds, so I am pretty happy with that. I still have about five months until my birthday so I just may be able to hit my goal after all. I'm going to really try to work in some exercise in the new year, whether it's at the gym or doing workout videos at home.

    Congrats on the weight loss!

As for the workouts, you don't need videos. I can work you out harder than any god damned video! :vag:
