that's some Final Destination shit right there
Funny you should bring that up, that scene with the log flying off the truck was filmed like 10 mins from where I live. lol.
In all my years of driving for work, this very thing always sat in the back of my mind, there have been many cases of sets of doubles coming off poorly maintained trailers and bouncing over center dividers and killing people in So. Cal as well as the rest of the country.
There was just a case somewhere in the mid west, a few years ago, where a wheel set killed some people at night. The state police found the truck from the description much later, and the driver had no idea they were gone and was devastated to learn someone was killed. I'll see if I can find it.
This one is brutal, a good reminder to look around once in a while when pumping gas.
honest question here - are dashboard cams in personal cars really a big thing now? do a lot of people use them?
In Russia it's apparently very necessary because without it you can be screwed over by the police and courts. That's why there are so many dashcam videos.
If you windshield mount your cellphone it's easy to get a dashcam app nowadays that does timelapse recording, etc.
In places like Russia, you can't drive without one because of all the crazies and accidents to prove fault, so the manufactures started to build a variety cameras and phone attachments for dashboards. Because of that, people started using them frequently in Asia and other parts of the world. Then companies started to install them in truck fleets in the U.S., now anyone with a GoPro just does it for shits and giggles.
You posted while I was still writing.
One in a million shot. That poor fucker probably is probably the star of a "Man gets struck by lightning" video somewhere on the internet.
I would have been fucked on my Harley! Scary shit.
old lady reflexes and shitty taste in music
i was driving between louisville and nashville when a truck tire retread gave way in one long strip. smashed the hood of a car in front of me, shot over my car and smashed out the windshield of the car behind. people scrambling everywhere. scariest thing ever.
You and me both. Never had anything that bad happen to me on a highway. That would not be good.
Last year the guy in the car in front of me (on I-95) was messing with his moon roof. The whole sheet of glass popped up and out. The thing kind of fluttered around like a piece of plywood. I was able to slow down and it crashed down in front of me into a million pieces. Scared the shit out of me.
Americans, too lazy/sissy to check lug bolts/nuts after having a tire serviced.
