i just received 2 diaries and 5 crisp $1 bills. I predict no entries for AGT in our household.
I've done Arbitron a few times, and Nielsen years ago
I got the offer once (w/ the dollar bill).
I watch everything online though, so I never followed up on it.
They came out and installed devices on my dad's TVs plus some sort of software on his computer. They gave him something like $500 and they had to have been disappointed. All he watched was Fox News and reruns of Gunsmoke.
The devices were a pain in the ass. They'd start flashing if you stayed on one channel too long and you'd have to acknowledge that you were there watching by hitting a button on the remote.
Was it Nielsen, or another market research company?
It's only for a week- I just watch Seinfeld reruns... However, there is a spot to tell them what you don't like on TV.
Pretty sure it was Nielson. He had to sign a contract for x amount of time and they sent him checks.
I received 4 Nielsen diaries about 4-5 months ago when I mentioned in the initial survey that I have 4 TVs. Pain in the ass to complete since I was traveling a few days that week.
In all seriousness, you better mention Howard Stern in that.
If it allows you to explain state that you have no interest in AGT with Stern as a co-host, but once he leaves you think you'll become a regular viewer.
We had them mailed to us last year. We filled out 2 of the 3 that were sent to us. One kid lost her diary after she took out the money.
Arbitron was bought out by Nielson.
I'm surprised there isn't an electronic version. Seems like a very dated way of doing things.
