I caught this on Netflix last night. It reminds me of any family walking through your local Wal Mart.

Looks like it might be worth watching, at least for a few laughs

I see/talk to people like that all the time when I'm working. Some of them are sweet and charming, some of them are downright scary.

I enjoyed that movie though. :)

it was a humorous and sad movie. the part with the little boy talking to his mom as she is on the way to rehab broke my heart. lil guy was more mature than her.

the scene in the taco bell drive thru was some funny shit.

I think my favorite one was Sue Bob, she had an incredible body with a face like Ian Mackaye and the Marlboro Man's voice. :giggle:

And she's "always been the sexy one in the family"....For the first part of the movie, before that, I thought she was a dude.

    I loved this movie.

I also picked up copies of the director's early film/s about the Whites: The Dancing Outlaw which was a 1991 PBS special on their father D. Ray; The Dancing Outlaw 2: Jesco Goes To Hollywood which was filmed in 1994-5 & features the bizarre appearance Jesco made on an episode of the Roseanne show.

Jesco's interactions between Roseanne & Tom Arnold are priceless. [They make him go to a tattoo artist friend of theirs to have Jesco's Nazi tattoos covered up].

In these films you get to see how incredibly beautiful all of Jesco's sisters were before they got into the drugs.
I had to run the segments with a shy & heartachingly beautiful Mamie back a couple of times before I could believe it was her.
I mean- those girls were HOT including Mamie who by the time of the filming of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) looks about as demure as a Marais SMC 200 R wheel trencher.

I was raised amongst a similar kind of rural, backwards people in my youth and had dealings with them off & on throughout my life.
I was born & raised in the South & worked there most of my life yet they considered me a "Yankee". I remember once I was down in Mississippi calling on a client and they asked me "what are you?" -and then "you one of them Yankees from up there in Memphis?".

In school & in my college years partying in bars I had to try to avoid getting into fights with their type.
It would almost always start with "Yewwww thank yew better'n'me, dontcha?"

Lived here all my life, and I'm quite familiar with the phenomenon... Also, the greeting for any new acquaintance is often :"Yew wanna fight?!"

I swear, after she said that I was expecting "and that's why Daddy favored me"
