It has ads on the lock screen (which can be easily disabled by installing any other app which utilizes the lock screen).

If I needed a phone I would definitely try it out. Pretty good reviews too.

8GB of storage isn't enough for me. The 16 GB version is still only 60 bucks. I know someone who had a Blu phone and they said it was good.

Maybe you have to be logged into Prime to show the special price as it's a Prime special.

It's a 4G LTE phone, I think if you pull a SIM out of a Verizon LTE phone and use that it would work on their network where there is 4G coverage but it wouldn't fall back on their CDMA network.

I'm tempted to order one just to try it out.

I bought 6 Blu phones from a Target price mistake at $46 each (at time reg price was about $150).
    3 x BLU Dash 5.5 D470u 4G HSPA+ Dual-SIM Factory Unlocked Cell Phone for GSM Compatible - White
3 x Blu Studio 5.0 Y530Q 4G LTE Factory Unlocked Cell Phone for GSM Compatible - White

Figured at that price they would be disposable. Especially since my Daughter tends to drop/break them all.
I got tired of paying for insurance and replacements. I am significantly ahead $$.
Turns out they are pretty durable only by daughters has recently cracked the glass after NUMEROUS drops.

So far only used 2 of the Studio 5.0
Work well but lack of Factory updates is a problem.
I don't care about custom roms etc

The table below provides detailed information about the BLU R1 HD - 8 GB - Black - Prime Exclusive - with Lockscreen Offers & Ads compatibility with the corresponding carrier network.

according to this table if you click on the link that says

, it only works on T mobile and sprint, and even then it's only partial 4g

edit: the table doesn't copy/paste over correctly

As long as you can root the phone easily this seems like a steal!
