    thoughts?

I thought it was good but it didn't answer a lot of the questions it brought up. This always frustrates me with specials like this. They raise a lot fo points and questions then never answer them

I caught the last 20 mins. Was planning on watching it all but it sucks that there's no gotcha moment. Would be cool if it worked out the same way as The Jinx.

Yeah, a lot of speculation and anecdotal evidence. Wouldn't have to go far to convince me of any of it though. Whackjobs.

I'm watching it now but have not had time to view the whole thing yet. It is amazing what a fraud and liar L. Ron Hubbard was (as well as an abusive wife beater and child kidnapper). I can't understand how people bought into this scam. i also read that they blackmailed John Travolta because they secretly videotaped his "audit" and they are threatening to reveal what he said if he ever leaves the cult, I mean church.

Heard the book goes into more detail. Loved that Tom Cruise was on stage with that big Mr. T medal around his neck.

What do they have on Tom Cruise? It's shocking to me that someone who seems rather reasonable could get taken by this organization. The cult is at the point where it doesn't need any members. They own property all over the world.

I honestly could give a shit about the people who get themselves soaked by the scum, my beef is that they can own billions of assets and pay no taxes

I saw it and a bunch of the top executives quit the cult because of that sick freak Miscarriage (Miscavige). He's also very intelligent and his strategy is to go on the offensive against criticism rather than defend his fraud religion. He even got the irs to give him tax exempt status by threatening to expose them. Tom Cruise and John Travolta are scared shitless of this guy.

I watched it and I am really thinking about reading the book now. I bet everyone that had anything to do with that Doc now have those "Squirrle Busters" following them. I wonder if the brain washed freaks tried to stop that from airing on HBO.

The book is quite good, actually, and is a fairly quick read. I love those kind of books, where the truth is stranger than fiction.

Got to hand it to L Ron Hubbard: he cooked up the biggest pile of bullshit you could imagine, sold it like PT Barnum, and got the feds to back down and declare the "Church" a legitimate tax exempt org.

The result: Miscavige could run that enterprise into the ground (which is what he is doing) and still be able to live like a friggin king for the rest of his days. The "Church" wisely bought up half of the West Coast and Florida, and is conservatively above the billion dollar asset level.

If I could scam people I would go into televangelism. Religion is the best scam going and it's all tax free.
