I gave it a shot last night with part 1 and was like meh...Is it worth continuing?
I could not get through part 1.
It's pretty shitty. As a Texan, I had high hopes for this miniseries. The fucking history channel jumped the shark and should just stick to ancient aliens and pawn stars.
I zipped through it, both parts. It was mostly background noise since it isn't captivating and has some bad acting. Ray Liotta was amusing, took a little while to figure out it was him. Seems badly and loosely written and they load the last half hour with a ton of commercials, good thing I could skip them.
I found this review on IMDB that sums it up as far as how inaccurate it is:
At first glance it appeared to be a better record of out of work actors than the birth of Texas.
From what little I saw, the scenery was ridiculous. There are no mountains right outside of Houston and the land between San Antonio and Houston is not a dry lake bed like Area 51. Lol. Everything was all wrong.
The extras wearing wrist watches in the Tarzan movies are more historically accurate.
I taped it on DVR...thanks to you guys I am happy to delete it and not waste my time!
Sounds like an oxymoron
Unless something is a straight documentary I won't watch, because the "hollywood treatment" ruins it usually.
