Pay per view here, my main damies. I will strut like Pootie struts tonight. I don't think Canelo will last very long. I hope he does, but the last time I saw Mayweather fight, I was just like, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaanng

To be honest with you, I'm the biggest boxing fan going, but I have no interest in watching Mayweather (although I hope Canelo KO's him, since that's the only way the judges are letting Mayweather lose). I just think Mayweather ducks anyone who can put up a real fight, and he cares more about PPV money and that undefeated record than his legacy.

but the most money and the untouched record is his legacy.

but don't worry, one day he will keep coming back for the money and a lucky punch will land.

Mayweather is a smart man. What's the point of having legacy if you can't even take a piss without soaking the wall and floor around the toilet like Ali?

Dude is living the life with out barely even bruising his face.

This is true, but he'll forever know that all of the old guys (and even some middle aged guys like me) hanging out at dive sports bars think he's a pussy. :jj:

Pacquiao was the top contender in his weight class, and Mayweather kept ducking the fight. Pacquiao became a politician and quit fighting as often (and according to his trainer, Freddie Roach, became soft and neglected his training) before going down. So even if Mayweather ends up fighting him now, Pacquiao is a shell of himself, and it wouldn't be the fight that it should have been.

You are right, but I think that there is your legacy with the public at large and then the legacy within the boxing community/hardcore fanbase. I'd liken it to this: There are people who believe Ali was the absolute greatest, and then there are the people who know about Liston taking a dive, the same way there are people who think Mayweather is the next baddest man on the planet, and those who know he's set up a business model (one that realized the risk of fighting Pacquiao wasn't worth the reward).

Just depends, the bar I hang out at has a lot of older semi-pro boxers who I shoot the shit with whenever I go there to catch a fight. I fought in college myself, but I'm not one of these idiots who thinks I could have ever hung with a legitimate heavyweight either.

EDIT: And before anyone points it out, I know Mayweather isn't a heavyweight, that's the class I fought at.

Fuck, I hope so. That would be the greatest thing since Buster Douglas beating Tyson's ass in Japan.

completely agree. he is trying to manufacture a great legacy by carefully researching opponents for the outcome he needs. He will never fight a great fight.

absolute worst day in boxing ever. I was in Junior High and Mike Tyson was absolutely the most invincible person to me. Unfortunately his career unraveled after that. Greatest and most entertaining fighter ever IMO
