Entertainment Anyone watching 'Vinyl' on HBO?

I have to go back and watch the first three episodes, but I've seen episodes 4-6, and I think it's pretty good. Bobby Cannavale is a fucking lunatic. Olivia Wilde had a full frontal nude scene in tonight's episode. Her boobies aren't too big, but the bush looked nice. And whoever portrayed David Bowie was perfect.

As for the show- it really dove head first into Richie's ( Canavale) drug psychosis and manic behavior as he chewed up one scene to the next in a coke and booze fueled marathon leaving everyone he knows or works with in a state of disbelief from his record company to hos co worker's daughter's bar mitzvah.

Not sure how he can pull off the rebirth of American Century Recordings as everything implodes within or around him.
Crazy twist in tonight's episode worthy of a Twilight Zone script.

Great show and cameos as far as the chaos and glamour of the early 70's music scene w possible punk and hip hop on the horizon....
... still not sure since both Scorsese and Winter burned me on the last season of Boardwalk.

 

I like it. It's decent show. Good acting and I like the late 70s scenery. Reminds me how you used to be able to get away with stuff that u can't anymore. Now there are cameras and cell phones everywhere. Everything is computerized and tagged in a database. Things were more grimey and raw back then. I miss some of those elements.

The faggy new rocker sub-story is a stupid idea--but overall i love it.

 

The merkin looked fake. I have seen better on Boardwalk Empire. How many people figured out Ernst only existed in Richie's mind until the "Sixth Sense" scene when you saw the back of his head. I thought he was real because I kept thinking that I saw him in the show a few weeks ago.

The actor ( Noah Bean) who portrayed Bowie did great!
Was reading some online reviews that didn't care for his cameo/ appearance.

New York Times does a puff piece in one column for the actor getting to play Bowie and then shreds his appearance/ portrayal in another.

Thought it was great, despite how much of a doped out lunatic Richie was.

A very tragic/nostalgic episode on many levels for the characters and ultimately, the viewing audience.
Great TV last night.
The series has lots of characters to chase, but it was a hell of a ride last night w that maniac Richie Finestra.

 

I went into Vinyl fully believing I'd love it.... turns out I just kinda like it...

 

I haven't watched last night's episode yet. I hope the Bowie actor isn't shitty.
