    piece, part, whole thing, any experience?there was a chick on sfn that claimed to do the whole thing by herself...forget her name tho.seems pretty cool tho, takes about 5-6 months, maine to georgia or ga. to maine

    No way...I tried the Oregon Trail in 3rd grade...3 days into it my Mom died and I got dysentery.

    i've got a buddy that wants to do it, we both have kids that will be outta the house in 5 yrs.there are shipping points that you have supplies shipped to if you're smart about it & plan ahead...it just seems like quite an adventure & mindfuk

    You dont need to do that...you will pass through tiny towns here and there. People do this all the time, its not that desolate.
