If you’re one of several iPhone users that have encountered iOS 7’s “black/white screen of death,†it looks like a fix is finally coming soon.
Apple recently confirmed that it will address the bug that has been plaguing users since its latest mobile software version launched back in September.
The problem has been causing phones to randomly shut down and reset for no apparent reason. Apple has since tried to fix the issue with subsequent software updates, but iPhone users have continued to report these unanticipated iPhone resets.

“We have a fix in an upcoming software update for a bug that can occasionally cause a home screen crash,†a spokesperson from the Cupertino, Calif.-based company told Mashable.
Based on complaints from Apple smartphone owners, the color of the “screen of death†depends on the color of your iPhone. For instance, if you own a White & Silver smartphone the screen will turn white, if it’s a Black & Slate handset it will appear black. This is similar to the “blue screen of death†that iPhone 5s owners have been reporting, which also causes the phone to randomly restart. This is believed to be a separate issue triggered by the Numbers app in the iWork suite.
Apple’s bug fix is expected to come with its iOS 7.1 update, which is now in its fourth beta with developers.

Wait. I thought Apple products were infinitely more stable than Windows environments.

    What happened?

Been using Windows Phone for a while now, it's very minimal as is the app store but as long as it gives me GPS, a browser, texting, and wi fi calling, we're all good.

I generally have been very happy with Apple. But I moved to OS7 on my iPhone 4 and I FUCKING HATE IT. Apple should not have allowed OS7 to work on iPhone 4 at all, as the damn phone cannot handle the environment with its existing guts. Moreover, it is near impossible to uninstall and then go back to the old OS.

It is so slow it makes me want to hurl it at that Steve Jobs clone they have now.

My old iPhone 4 could no longer connect to wi-fi after the update. Should've just left it at iOS 6.

Samsung owners turn into insta-douches the second the word apple comes up.

Its great that y'all like your phones. I won't get into a pissing battle over which brand is better, but what I can point out is that Samsung phones made before the iPhone (I owned Sammy's flagship at the time) were complete garbage as well as the first iterations of the Gallaxy line. It's an indisputable fact that Apple revolutionized the smartphone market.

After many years they've finally caught up. If you want to reward that kind of the thievery and buy a good immitation, knock youselves out, but please stop crowing about your phones. We know they're fine devices. Many of us would prefer to continue to reward innovation rather than piracy.

...what kind of innovation? the kind where the old charger doesnt work with the new phone so you can buy new peripherals?
