Aloha, Today was a comfortably average day. Did some work, hung out around the house, no zombies or angry cyborgs, so I'm feeling fine. On Tonight's Menu: Thai Style Noodles & Chicken Feet - Vermicelli Noodles in a Red Peanut Curry Sauce with Napa, Carrots, Basil, Cilantro, & Scallions with Marinaded Chicken Feet & Hot Peppers... ...and tonight's selection for Pre-War Blues Week is a beautiful song from 1930 by Elvie Thomas with Geeshie Wiley on guitar. These two ladies were some of the originators. I'm certain that you'll notice how poor the quality of the recording is. This is because you are hearing one of the only copies of the record that has survived over the years(I doubt ten even exist). Its an example of why I love finding 78's, they are actual pieces of history and sometimes you may get lucky and come across an undiscovered treasure. Some recordings of the original Delta Blues have been lost forever unfortunately. I hope one day to find an original 78 of tonight's song "Motherless Child Blues", not because its worth a small fortune, but because I would love to hear this sweet, sad song unadulterated by neglect and time... Feel free to talk about your food or your music. Hopefully all the positive people stay positive, all the funny people stay funny, and all the negative ones take a long, hard look in the mirror.
