I recently listened to him on Adam Carolla's podcast where he just crowbarred all these terrible out of date references to punchlines of "jokes".. and Gilbert's podcast , which I really like, was horrible with him on it. Gilbert adds fuel to the fire..but man, Artie's routine about his dumb movie career and "past" drug life is getting old-er.. I'm a fan of his and loved him on Howard's show ..but he's yesterday's news now..
I listened to the Artie version a couple times, but will listen to this one today. I'm sure there's little difference. Thought it was pretty great, except then I watched all Gilbert's appearances on The Artie Lange Show on YouTube and realized they don't really cover any new ground here.
Before I listen, is Gilbert being normal or is he doing that listenable over the top character of himself, fake voice, etc?
Incredible hearing them together again. Like an entire episode of them derailing the news. They do a run on Tracy Morgan that's killer.
Interesting moment. Artie says "on the Stern show, when I was ALLOWED there before stabbing myself 9 times and heroin". Artie then laughs hysterically as Gilbert calls him a fucking idiot for stabbing himself 9 times and not dying. So Gunks's 'he's too fragile to handle an appearance' lune is total horseshit.
Artie and Gilbert doing that "(Black) Honeymooners" bit was hysterical!
im pissing myself.. love this. hes so quick.
"we goin bowling but we ainnnnt goin bowling"
My face hurts from laughing. It's this sort of infectious insanity that the Morning Gunk has been missing for years. I'm not just stumping for Artie, it's Gilbert, or Jackie/fred or Billy West. But I've always loved these two together.
The other throwaway line after a racially charged riff that's quite telling is when Artie says 'and this is why you won't find us on the Stern show'. Definitley evidence that the all new all PC Howard isn't just a Shed conspiracy theory.
Oh man I'm listening now it's hilarious. Just the Tracy Morgan jokes are worth it so far!
"I can't put on my tux....I'm emotionally disturbed "
Who is Gilbert's co-host? He sounded like a real pole-smoker on the podcast Artie put out last week. Someone needs to tell him he's doing a podcast with Gilbert Gottfried, not hosting Inside the Actor's Studio.
(I know the guy's name, I just mean who the fuck is he?)
Frank Santo Padre. He like a comedy writer for a lot of daytime shows.
He's pretty cool actually. Gilbert did his first few shows without him and they often stalled out at times and were kinda akward. Frank keeps the show moving and he has an insane memory for all things hollywood. Listen to some more of Gilbert show bro, you'll see they are a great team
yeah, Artie's still telling the same jokes he told 5 years ago. No thanks. it doesn't work for me and I didn't dig the podcast
I wonder if they'll catch any heat over that epic (and hysterical) Tracy Morgan jag they go on?
Seems like fate this episode was released the same day Tracy gave his comeback interview on the Today Show..
Yeah, I hear all their cushy corporate, television, and motivational speaking gigs dried up as a result of this podcast.
You're better than this.
Iam surprised they kept sal in that climate.
Yeah but he's been neutered along with the rest of them. Hasn't been the same since Gilbert dropped the Obama N bomb.
I guess Gilbert and Art are now Bros.
what day was Gilbert on arties show....i must have missed it.
I'm not condoning anything like that, just pointing out, the media being what it is, it wouldn't surprise me if some awful, Social Justice Warrior-type authored an op-ed for Salon or Jezzabel targeting Artie & Gilbert for (what they would undoubtedly spin as) an "unsympathetic racial tirade" before the day is out.
Catching the two of them together on something they could sling as *gasp* "offensive" would be like spotting a unicorn to the right HuffPo intern..
