... seems like Howchie may have lied to us .... again
Why did Conan ban him?
How did Stern lie about this?
He never said anything about artie coming on, if anything he said the opposite
I feel sorry for the poor lug....
What the fuck does Conan have to do with the Tonight Show?
if you come up to a midget and say hey midget
or come up to a black guy on the basketball court and say hey midget
Howard never made any mention of Artie not being welcome on the show. If I'm not mistaken, he said it wasn't up to him if Artie came on.
Conan doesn't host the Tonight Show anymore. Did he mean Fallon? He must be high as fuck.
He hosted it for 7 or 8 months.
Well at least that confirms it about him not being allowed on THSS.
That sucks as a fan of both the show and Artie but it's pretty low of Stern to not allow Artie back on.
Can't wait for his podcast, though; should be good.
I was just going to say that
He never said "not welcomed", but he has said he feels Artie needs to get things straight in his life before coming back on. He talked about it recently briefly & said that he (Stern) doesn't feel like it is the right move now (or similar)
Really? I expect it to be horrible
Must have meant when Conan was the host
Conan banned him in 2009
Artie Lange won’t be appearing on Conan O’Brien’s “Tonight Show” anytime soon: Producers think Howard Stern’s sidekick isn’t sober enough to perform.
“I’d been on [‘Late Night,’ O’Brien’s previous show] 15 times in the last 11 years, and they were great to me,” Lange, a recovering heroin addict, tells us. “But the last time I was on, they thought I was high, and now they won’t put me on until I prove I’m sober.
“I am sober,” he insists. “I can’t be a third guest? I mean, I’m not asking to bump George Clooney.”
But the head honchos at NBC’s “Tonight” are still worried about Lange slipping up —and it turns out they have good reason. The comedian went on one heck of a bender before releasing his druggie-days memoir “Too Fat to Fish” last November.
The awkwardness between him and the Roots would be funny if he went on fallon.
Conan banned artie because he showed up high on something beside wine, he wrote that in his book but since the. The ban has been lifted.
Well, it could be. I listened to an episode of his former show once and it was pretty lame, but then again, it was an episode filled with mostly sports talk.
He says he's going to be having other comedians and stuff on, so that might be good.
He was just on Jimmy, and he's been on more than any other guest. He must be messed up.
I think it will have great moments, but Artie as his own boss is destined for disaster.
With nobody to report to, he will not do well
I'm looking forward to it, but I worry about his ability to actually show up and take the effort. Running a professional podcast is more effort than showing up for his dtv job, and he missed that a lot. Plus with his habitual absenteeism, he might have a hard time getting sponsors/crowd funding.
