Check the tapes . Someone was afraid of the other. Almost no interaction, ever.
You have to be a complete miserable shit of a human being to sit in that chair dead silent day after day to only come to life to mock a stutterer and occasionally get in a blowup with a co-worker.
I don't recall Fred ever having an actual conversation with Benjy either.
Typical co-workers that have no interest in each other....I'm like that, I never get social with my co-workers.
Mike Walker, yet another person who was on the show who Howard has cut so he can have more vacation time.
It's the fukin Howard Stern show. You expect Fred and Artie to talk about their golf game in the middle of the broadcast?
When has anyone in the studio had conversations with anyone else outside of what Howard instigated and directed?
Stupid shit thread
Fred just sounds like a complete and utter bore, he's got a family and his social life is probably just that little rock band he has. Beyond work they without a doubt rarely swam in the same circles.
I doubt there's any bad blood, Fred might have resentment that Artie made far more money than he did, but that's his fault for not caring more about the marbles.
I am as well and I work with a bunch of fucking social butterflies. My team text messages each other when not at work and the marketing department practically lives with one another.
I've got a reputation for being a lone wolf...which is fine by me. Being social with work people is a pain in the ass.
I tried to check the tapes, but the tapes team has scrubbed them clean of any Artie content....
I have been careful to avoid too much interaction with coworkers... I usually eat at my desk unless some of us go out for lunch.
fred got the last fake laugh on that one
It's not easy having a conversation with a coworker when he's nodding on heroin.
All I know is that I was shocked to hear Fred say he's not a millionaire on the show. Maybe he was lying for the sake of an argument but jeez everyone else who was so crucial to the show has money. If Fred has to get another job after Wiggy retires that'll be really pathetic.
Bet you're a joy to work with.
I always took it as Fred was afraid of Artie and Artie going "postal" one day in the studio, because so many times Artie would just rant going through withdrawals or say something not funny and Fred would just laugh at loud for no reason and agree with him on ridiculous stuff. He would also say Artie was never on drugs or drinking, etc. Fred obviously knew he was. Fred's a smart guy and has been around the block.
There was someone named Artie on the show? I was listening to the tapes and didn't hear him. Was that during Fartman, Private Parts, or AGT. That seems to be all their is on the tapes.
You'd think so but I wasn't shocked. I never bought into any of his horseshit genius crap. Get him out of the world of trivial facts and he is lost. He couldn't figure out simple compound interest while talking about Sals debt. It wasn't just an isolated incident. His real estate jargon could make you believe you don't know how to do math anymore.
