What's never been discussed is the timing of the suicide attempt. The Stern show was about to go back on air from the Christmas break, and he did it then. I imagine that he was doing H all the way from when he got sent home until the first show of the new year. He probably didn't tell his agent or his family that he was sent home, because they didn't mention it on air at all, like usual for any Stern-related HR issue. Then he would have needed to do some serious explaining to everyone in his life when he wasn't back on the show. He's never discussed the timing of the suicide attempt.

I remember what the Nick and Artie show was before Bochetti and Felato got their stinking paws onto it. Sometimes I think it was just a dream

I didn't like nick and Artie show. Nick isn't a good broadcaster and his jokes are corny.

I don't care nick is a republican if he was funny I would have listened more

I still listen to a lot of the old Nick and Artie show. Some of those episodes, before Obama got re-elected and Nick lost it, are gold.

I've been going over the old timeline, though, and yeah something isnt kosher.

I was listening to the most recent show today. The Howard stuff was interesting, but boy does Artie know how to lay on a guilt trip. I'm almost surprised Howard is heartless enough to ignore arties pleas. More interesting is how Robin or anyone else from the show won't return his calls.
I almost feel sorry for the fat junky.

This will be his excuse for his next failure (failed suicide, falling off wagon - as if he was ever on it).

Fuck him. Old time saying - "you reap what you sow". He deserves everything he gets (and doesn't get).

Mike Bocchetti is an enduring American icon and comedic genius.

Artie has been making fun of Bochetti living with his mom since 2012.

Stern's non discussion of outgoing staff members, of course, is legendary. Lisa G., the Howard TV guys, etc. A guest even had to ask about the whereabouts of Billy West during a recent Wrapup show, which Jon Hein commented that he's still "around" and "doing great". Howard found out about the sucicide attempt before the Monday that they came back from the usual Holiday break. However it wasn't until the story was leaked to the press, on Wednesday of that week, did they then get forced to talk about it. Stern would have never even mentioned Artie's departure unless the suicide attempt ended up getting so much publicity.

In my opinion, that's why Howard has decided to cut off all communications w/ Artie. He feels that since the suicide attempt was on the heels of the Monday show back from break, it was a childish F-U from Artie to Howard.
