Discussion in 'The Howard Stern Show' started by Bennymuso_il'Duce, Feb 17, 2016.
Who did you prefer?
both really were good but different. hard to compare. arties flame out was much more spectacular though
Jackie annoyed me because of his evasive answers and idiotic justifications when challenged about his shit. I came to appreciate him a lot more after he left, because I didn't realize how much he was "Howard's" funny all along; but I thought Artie was the best thing that ever happened to the show until he self-destructed.
Artie was better on air and it's really not close but Jackie is a good comedy writer
Most of my favorite memories of the show happened when Jackie was on.
The era of Artie, KC and SJ was the greatest
I liked both, but I gotta give the slight edge to Jackie.
I missed Fred's use of Jackie's laugh track after it was gone.
2001-2004 were the best I agree
artie is light years ahead of jackie when it comes to being funny
I still say the vegas shows leading up to and including the SJ/cabbie boxing match were the high water mark of the stern show. amazing radio
Jokeman hands down Arties addiction was no joke as we all found out when he tried to off him self.
Really? I think Artie is better when he's on heroin.
I barely heard the Jackie era, since in montreal we got it in 1997,and that was it,except for picking up the show with tons of static once in a while from upstate new york.Thats why I chose Artie.
not just being funny I liked his fights with Teddy,Stern,Levy etc.
I've always said the Jackie era was David Lee Roth Van Halen (the classic lineup), the Artie era was Sammy Hagar Van Halen (different but still good) and the current era is Gary Cherone Van Halen
The Jackie era is highly overrated by some Stern fans. Granted, they were limited by the FCC but no way is anything they did as funny as 2006-2009.
Billy West -- some stern fans talk about him like there was this golden era with him -- he did 2 funny bits one was a Marge Schott imitation the other a prank call to Gary
heard about West, but like kc armstrong,I missed most of it,Benza too.
