Greetings Film Buffs! In preparation for our next movie night on Saturday, July 7th, we will have a movie night rumble. I would like each Film Society Member to pick one movie for us to consider for our movie night. On June 17th, I will close the "suggestion phase" and then the "competition phase" will begin.

We will have 5 matches, with 2 titles going head to head for a vote (all suggested movie titles will be placed in a drawstring bag and two titles will be picked at random to match up). At the end of all 5 matches, the 5 movie title winners will go head to head for a vote in a "final round". The movie with the most votes will be our selected movie for movie night.

The movie night "winner" will receive a ONE YEAR supportership at Dawg's. (If anyone is not a member of the Film Society and would like to join, please PM Boss Ono to be added to the list). Thank you.

    So let the rumble begin!!!

My choice is Wes Anderson's Rushmore.

So in other words this was a useless post not pertinent to the original post. You just babble to hear yourself talk sometimes.

At least you didn't try to make this thread about a personal tragedy.

If I were a member of the Film Society I would pick The Prestige because I remember it being a good flick and haven't seen it in awhile. Also I can masturbate to Scarlett Johansson during the slow parts.

Nice idea, Peachy. It's a lot of work, but we have a month between film showings. I'm going to think about my choice. Miss having Nerdy and DBD for this. Thanks for doing all this. It's a good way to make sure it's a movie most of us agree on.

Not hard work at all. It's a fun way for members to get involved with picking out the movie. ;)

This really isn't hard. It's about fun. All we will do is vote on movies. It's as easy as pie. ;) And don't think too hard Pony. Just think of a movie you have liked or a movie you are dying to see and let us know what it is. Then I'll add it to the hat! :D

And yes, I do miss Nerd and DbD. :(

Ok, i just posted about this movie in the "most underrated movie thread"

    Big Night

Primo and Secondo are two brothers who have emigrated from Italy to open an Italian restaurant in America. Primo is the irascible and gifted chef, brilliant in his culinary genius, but determined not to squander his talent on making the routine dishes that customers expect. Secondo is the smooth front-man, trying to keep the restaurant financially afloat, despite few patrons other than a poor artist who pays with his paintings. The owner of the nearby Pascal's restaurant, enormously successful (despite its mediocre fare), offers a solution - he will call his friend, a big-time jazz musician, to play a special benefit at their restaurant. Primo begins to prepare his masterpiece, a feast of a lifetime, for the brothers' big night.
