Not a bad movie, but I wouldn't call it outstanding either. My favorite scene was Iron Man battling Hulk using his hulk buster armor. Vision was pretty bad ass too.

Ultron was underwhelming. I felt like the end battle was basically a rehash of the alien invasion fight from the first movie, only it went on a little too long. I'd give it a C+.

    Anyone else see it?

I literally don't recall anything from the first one except for the Hulk smashing some guy on the floor over and over and Iron Man flying into space and then coming back in the nick of time.

    I don't remember anything else.

    Is this one that bad?

I'm setting the over/under for the inevitable 'Great Comic Book Film Crash of 20xx' at 2025, and right now I'm waging the under. Any takers?

I can see the Wikipedia entry now, "Studios bankrupt overnight," "Millions of jobs lost."

Why did Loki get cut out? I'm not a comic book fan in general but his character is fun and I heard he was filmed but then then never put in the finished movie?

at 2:21 it felt a little long. good summer popcorn flick, with a little too much dialogue for its own good.

saw it Friday in a crowded 500+ seat theater. Some 350lb walmart fashionista sat down 2 seats from me right before the movie started and then attempted to breath thru her nose the entire movie. very distracting.

I'm in Dallas for a few weeks, so might go check it out in DBox at the one place offering it. Anyone tried that yet? :dontknow:

Hated it, sorry. Disjointed, poor story, poor CGI.

I had to laugh when Scarlett Johannsen's hair doesn't even move while going 100+ mph on a motorcycle whipping through traffic. That means no one involved with making the movie really cared that much. And that spoke for the entire movie.

It was the typical movie that's just thrown together to harvest the summer box office.

It started slow. Some of the dialogue was so hokey, it reminded me of one of those direct-to-video animated movies they put out from time to time. Massive amounts of exposition and matter-of-fact nerd-speak jammed in awkwardly (as if anyone in the theater hasn't seen the previous Marvel films).

But I thought the action scenes were great and the goofy comic book humor was there and by the end I was loving it.

It doesn't hold a candle to the first one, though. Or the first Iron Man. Or the first Captain America.

I actually liked Ultron - though I'm not familiar with the comic book character. Thought James Spader was great. He reminded me of RDJ's Tony Stark, but evil.

But this Ultron was not really the Ultron that I know

    Wanda and Vision were perfect...

I just saw Ex Machina on a plane and it kicked Ultron's ass.

Agreed. Loki helped make the first one great. His absence left the second one lacking.

Yeah I agree with what you said for the most part but I would give it a solid B.

If you read the comics and the same bad guy was in every issue, people would get pissed off. Same thing with the movies.

That was one of my major problems with the film - Ultron is pretty much indestructible, with contempt for all life. When it comes down to it he and his boys go out like a weak sister.

Just wish Joss Whedon had taken on the X-men films instead - they're much more his true interest.
