Does anyone here suffer from lower back pain? Since I have now become elderly my back pain is horrible.
Any helpful suggestions other than taking strong prescription pain meds?

I suggest you buy Dr. John Sarno's "Healing Back Pain: The Mind Body Connection" and then burn it before you read a single word from it. It won't help your back problems but at least you won't waste countless hours reading a useless piece of drivel and hocus pocus that proclaims it will fix your back problems.

I like to lay on my back (on a yoga mat) and bring both of my knees into my chest. Wrap your arms around your knees and squeeze. You should feel a nice stretch in your lower back. Hold each stretch for 3-5 seconds, doing 2 sets of 10 repetitions. I'm not a PT by any means, but I was a college athlete for 4 years.

Icy Hot patch or the Icy Hot advanced cream. Been dealing with an elbow and shoulder deal all summer. Aleve helps as well.

I had back surgery a few months ago. Seems to help with the sciatica issue, but I need to lose a few pounds. Just getting back into the groove at the gym.

Serious, I had serious back pain a few years ago from pulling it working out. I took a pillow with me everywhere to sit. It helped with the pain and eventually it got better. I took a lot of over the counter medication and used heating pads at night.

But it depends on how you hurt your back on what to do.

If you don't have a bulging or herniated disc and are experiencing pain you probably have crappy core strength or mental problems or most likely of all both.

Hit the pilates machine and stop being such a fucking psycho, guy.
