A baker has been slammed for making a cake depicting the 9/11 terror attacks. Thomas Kienbauer, the owner of the Alexander patisserie in Vienna, Austria, crafted the cake to show two planes crashing into the sides of the Twin Towers. But as the baker finds himself taking heat for his controversial design, he has insisted that he made the cake to comment on his dissatisfaction with the Austrian government and 'corrupt' politics. One tower has been painted with the colors of the Social Democrats, labeled 'SPO', while the other shows the other governing party, the People's Party, labeled 'OVP', RT reported. But while Kienbauer was pictured proudly grinning alongside his cakes, others weren't quite so impressed and branded the creation 'offensive' and 'unbelievable'. 'Awful comparison!' one Austrian tweeter commented. 'When one understands that he depicted 9/11 that claimed so many lives.' Another added: 'This cake is absolutely outrageous! It is an insult to America.' 'What on earth was he thinking?' one Fox reader wrote. 'Beyond distasteful, sick.' But others supported the baked scene. 'Freedom of expression should be upheld,' one wrote to RT. 'This demeans no one. It's a cake of political expression. Hopefully it tastes good.'
