Post a band you either recently discovered or became a fan of that no longer exists.

I knew about the Cramps, probably from the Beavis and Butt-Head video for Bikini Girls with Machine Guns. Spoon just did a remake of TV Set by the Cramps for the Poltergeist movie. the Cramps were part of the early punk scene at CBGBs in NYC. Let by a husband-wife team of Lux Interior on vocals and his wife Poison Ivy on Guitar, they were categorized as rockabilly or psychobilly.

So, started checking out videos of them on You Tube, and man, do I wish I saw them before Lux Interior died in 2009. Some crazy shows, and Poison Ivy could shred on guitar. Not the most musically talented, but they get style points for energy and doing crazy shit on stage.

    Anybody ever see them live?

I just bought a three dog night live album. Incredible, start to finish. All I ever knew of them was that Jeremiah was a bullfrog bullshit. Chuck Negron is an amazing singer.

I got to see the Cramps in Philly about 15 years ago. Great show.

I know most of you guys that post on here are hard rock fans, but I am more of an old school R&B and rap guy. Anyway, I used to love Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards old group, CHIC, back when I was a kid. I was surfing http://www.whosampled.com/ to look at all the rap artists/groups that sampled various CHIC songs, and came across this video and group that I had NEVER heard of before, The Navigators, from Sweden.

They also covered another old school R&B song that I really like, Joyce Sims' "Come Into My Life" (that was produced/remixed by Kurtis Mantronik from Mantronix, another favorite group of mine)

The first time I saw this particular video, I was like, WTF? that's CUBA? How did some American rappers that I've never heard of get to Havana? Then, I dug a little more, and saw that they were from Sweden.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navigators_(Swedish_band)

There will probably never be a reunion, as the brother in the group, David Jassy, moved to LA, and wound up running over some guy and killing him. He will be out of CDC (California Dep't of Corrections) in '24 (and will probably be promptly deported back to Sweden by ICE just as soon as he is released from prison).

I saw the Cramps open for the Chili Peppers, New Years Eve 89-90 in San Francisco. I didn't know them, but I remember the crowd was really into them. At least the people down on the floor. Great show.

Even though I had made fun of them for a decade, I fell in love with Ween right as they fizzled out. I did get to see them live, but from what I've heard, they were basically on life support.

    ...still good shows though.

As great as the singers were, the band itself was remarkable. The keyboard player just died. Too bad, he really defined a lot of the sound.

I have known about the Cramps for a long time. I discovered them through reading books by Henry Rollins. Rollins is always talking about how much he loves them. Also, if you ever listen to Henry's radio show he plays their music regularly. I wish I had the opportunity to see the original Misfits and the Cramps play a show together. Sadly, we are stuck with Jerry Only dragging the Misfits name through the ringer. Jerry Only with Howard are similar in that both were once apart of something great that now has turned to garbage.

I listen to Chris Carters British Invasion, so I "discovered" The Pretty Things. A band from the 60's.
