Been listening to the Sam Kinison Week shows....

    and realized that Artie was pretty much a surrogate for Sam, a Hollywood "bro" to live through vicariously, who did all the things Howard wish he had the balls to do. And of course, having a trainwreck in the studio when they were high on substances = Radio Gold. Of course Sam was on another level, so let's just say Artie was a poor man's version of it.

    Another thing, where did all the stand-up comedians go? They used to flock to the show, hang out, drop by unannounced, etc. Does anyone remember laughter?
