I loooked at the psa website and to join its like $125..just wanted to get like 5 or 6 cards graded
I've got this 1958 Mickey Mantle.
My collection is sitting in my closet and from what I am hearing and reading is that they are for the most part worthless cardboard.
Check out this book..its a pretty good read (well not as good as Oh Dog) Its pretty sobering
What are they? Sports cards aren't worth shit nowadays unless they are very old and very rare.
My dad always told me I was wasting my money on baseball and basketball cards. I foolishly told him that they would be worth a lot of money when I got older. He told me "something is only worth what somebody will pay for it."
thats nice..whats that worth?
wacky packs first series
Becket said around $100 when I got it in the 90's and it hadn't increased very much when I last checked a few years ago.
I tried doing this a few years ago.... went on line and built a spreadsheet with all of my old football cards and figured I had about $3000 worth. Took it to a shop and the guy said he would give me $100 for the whole box. Unless they are very rare and in super condition, they are pretty much worthless. If your corner is the least bit fuzzy or frayed, you're not mint. Very complicated grading system. I gave up and just sold a few on ebay as "ungraded, as is" and the most I got was like $30 for an old Joe Namath.
Your father was a wise man..Sadly much of the collectable craze we experienced in the 80's and 90's was just a bubble. The bottom fell out of most of it. Remember people were paying over $1,000 for beanie babies?
And people make fun of me for my wrestling belt collection...
Send them to my anonymous PO box and I will be glad to look them over for you.
No one can make fun of you Lawyer Larry..you're the man!
Anybody can make fun of me, but that just proves beyond a reasonable doubt that they are jealous of me.
You do not need to join PSA in order to submit.
I assume you mean you have that card and not the PSA 9 pictured? Because if you do have a PSA 9 of that, it's worth way more than $100.
Yeah, just the card.
Still, it's a cool card. My dad collects the older ones like that and has a bunch of Mantle, Mays, Clemente, Aaron, etc. I collected the shitty 70s/80s/90s stuff that are now completely worthless. It's amazing the money that changed hands over those cards at the time and now are worth, as my dad puts it, "two dead flies".
I have like 20 jose canseco 1986 donruss rated rookies
