2010: BethO offered Dancing With The Stars. The spotlight chaser wants it bad but Howard says no. He mocks their offer and quotes their number on the air to embarrass them. He laughs that its a "trainwreck of a show with has-beens" and "hollywood's graveyard" and beneath her.

2011: Howard announces he'll be a fill-in judge on a knock off talent show, and announces BethO will be on a knock off makeover show on a channel nobody watches.

2012: After months of commercials, billboards and build up, AGT airs on the same night as DWTS, then loses to it in the ratings.

I'm loving this. Guaranteed he's sucking Jay Leno's dick by July.

    Great observation!
I sincerely hope Howard has derailed his flaccid career.
However... on last night's TMZ which I just got around to watching during dinner... the entire crew was all hyper over what a "great" job Howard had done as an AGT judge.
    I was fucking furious!

It's simple, they parrot what Harvey Levin tells them to.

Beth wouldn't last an episode on that show.... it takes real commitment, much practice, charisma and personality.

And Howard knew that when she made a very early exit it would look bad for him claiming he still had millions of listeners.

I'm not so sure, in fairness I actually think she might have lasted a while, but only for her amorphous and remora-like abilities to bend, conform, mold herself into whatever shape is required to get what she wants. I think she would've attached herself to that show the way she attached herself to Howard, like one of those suckfish.

So as much as it pains me to be contrarian in this case she would've probably been fine but for all the wrong reasons - the worst, most self serving ones imaginable.

I think it was pure bullshit that DWTS ever did more than make a casual inquiry, if that. Just more Stern-Buchwald aggrandizing spin.

I think you happen to be right. DWTS doesn't think of names and then go and seek them out one by one. They cast a wide net and spam a general offer/inquiry to every agent ever listed past, present and future and then start working the replies case by case. Which means Stern/Buchwald had at least one round of back and forth if they got a number out of them. And I'm sure Buchwald probably inquired about their interest level in Robin at the same time, which is why Robin then spun it on the air as "yeah they asked me to do it but of course I said no".

And based on Robin's current career trajectory she should've just taken the gig because for a long time she's just assumed she'd end up on her own daytime TV talkshow. Well time is up. Now all she'll be remembered for is a piss bag.

I haven't watched AGT. Just can't bring myself to do it. It's too sad. But I would watch DWTS, just to see Beth make horses ass out of herself.

TMZ's success is based on, mostly, kissing celebrities' asses -- at least those that don't have run-ins with the law.

They're the only paparazzi that will fire its employees if they follow celebrities in their car, or to their children's school.

In fact, some chick from Cougar Town complained to Harvey about being called a bitch by one of his photogs, and the photog was promptly fired.

They're even nice to Lindsay Lohan. Her mother makes sure to keep them on speed dial so they're the first to get any Lindsay news. In return, that usually a lot nicer than most places.
