    (CNN)Several black pastors invited to meet with Donald Trump on Monday have denied reports that they had plans to endorse the presidential candidate at the event.

    Bishop Clarence McClendon, a Los Angeles-based pastor who like Trump has appeared on reality television, was invited to the meeting but will not attend.

    "The meeting was presented not as a meeting to endorse but a meeting to engage in dialogue," he said Friday on Facebook.

    "The Preachers of L.A." star said he will not make up his mind to endorse until January 2016.

    Bishop Corletta Vaughn, Senior Pastor of The Holy Ghost Cathedral and a star of the Oxygen reality series "Preachers of Detroit," said she was invited to the meeting but will not attend nor endorse Trump.

    "Trump is an insult and embarrassment. But he represents the country we have become," she said Wednesday on Facebook. "ZERO experience ... Flaunting a ticket of unbridled bigotry, sexism, racism and everything that is wrong with America."

    The Trump campaign has not responded to CNN request for comment on the issue Saturday, and in their announcement, the campaign did not specify, which religious leaders were invited to Monday's meeting.

    The meeting was described by the campaign in a press release as, "a coalition of 100 African American Evangelical pastors and religious leaders who will endorse the GOP frontrunner after a private meeting at Trump Tower."

    Bishop Paul S. Morton tweeted Friday that he refused to meet with Trump, calling the candidate disrespectful.

    "I was asked 2 meet with Mr Trump too but I refused because until he learns how to respect people you can't represent me thru my endorsement," the founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship tweeted.

    The announcement has been met with criticism from some black pastors given that it came days after a Black Lives Matter activist was physically assaulted at a Trump rally.

    In an op-ed in EBONY magazine published Friday, pastors, seminary professors and Christian activists critical of Trump asked the group backing the candidate to consider the impact that endorsing him could have on their congregations.

    "By siding with a presidential candidate whose rhetoric pathologizes Black people, what message are you sending to the world about the Black lives in and outside of your congregations? Which Black lives do you claim to be liberating," the leaders wrote.

    Be interesting to see how many turn up then.... My guess is many will attend, and the media is focusing on pastors who never planned to attend in the first place.

    Did Trump specifically name these pastors as endorsing him?

    Its just a claim put out by some black pastor's when nobody claim that they endorsed Trump. It was more of a wooing meeting on Trump's behalf. False headline based on false assumption made by black pastors.

    "Trump is an insult and embarrassment. But he represents the countrywe have become," she said Wednesday on Facebook. "ZERO experience ... Flaunting a ticket of unbridled bigotry, sexism, racism and everything that is wrong with America."

    So instead of meeting with Trump, and trying to discuss fixing the problems they see Trump perpetuating, they resort to name calling, and focus on everything wrong in America.

    The black community is trying to be heard, and they were giving a chance, but they just find it easier to turn it down and keep complaining.

    Ok, gotcha....

    either way, i'm glad to have you in my stable of bitches. welcome :console:

    Donald Trump is constantly lying
    We are at the point in Donald Trump’s campaign when it’s difficult to decide whether to focus on his unconstitutional policy proposals or his blatant lies. I mean, this is just from yesterday:

    Let’s focus today on Trump’s lies. Trump’s claims about “thousands and thousands of people” in New Jersey celebrating the 9/11 attacks have already been debunked by both The Post’s Glenn Kessler and PolitiFact’s Lauren Carroll, so we don’t need to belabor them here. So let’s focus on the lies not covered in the above tweet.

    First, there’s this one from Trump’s own Twitter feed:

    As Kevin Drum explains:

    [W]ouldn’t you know it: It contains a wee racial error. It claims that most whites are killed by blacks, but in 2014, which is the latest full-year homicide data available from the FBI, 82 percent of whites were killed by other whites and only 15 percent were killed by blacks.

    Trump’s tweeted graphic swaps the the numbers for the offender’s race — but only for white victims. For black victims, the numbers in the graphic are roughly correct. This makes it look like blacks kill everyone.

    The New Republic’s Jeet Heer notes:

    By wildly inflating the likelihood of a murderer of a white person to be black (an exaggeration of nearly sixfold), Trump is catering to the worst sort of racism. Perhaps the icing on the cake of this anti-black outburst is that the source of information cited in the tweet — the “Crime Statistics Bureau” of San Francisco — doesn’t seem to exist.

    What’s equally as disturbing as the bogus crime statistic is that, according to Raw Story’s Travis Gettys, that figure came from a virulently anti-Semitic Twitter account.

    Now we’re at the point in this campaign when Trump’s defense for this — and those of his supporters — will be predictable. Trump was just RTing someone else’s lie, so it’s not really his fault. Trump’s MO on this ever since he’s become a candidate has been a simple five-step plan:

      1. Say/tweet/retweet outrageous thing;
      2. Dominate the next news cycle;
      3. Bully the media that focus on the outrageous statement;
      4. Backtrack/claim misinterpretation;
      5. Sustain polling advantage.
    Buried in the lies that Trump has told over the past week, however, is a contradictory set of policy positions that he won’t back away from. In Trump’s interview with the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board last week, the following exchange took place:

    Mr. Gigot noted that “you said in the last debate you’re a 100% free trader but you just don’t like some of the deals that have been negotiated.”

    Mr. Trump: “Correct.”

    Mr. Gigot: “So is there an example of a deal, trade deal, that we’ve done in the past that you like, that you point to as a model?”

    Mr. Trump: “Not many. Nafta was a disaster. Not many. We could have great deals.” He then detours into corporate inversions, made-in-Japan backhoes, currency devaluation, Chinese hotel furniture, the recent GOP debate and the [WSJ] editorial he disliked. For the record, Mr. Trump always knew China wasn’t a party to the Pacific pact.

    Mr. Gigot tried again: “But you said you don’t like the big deals, so you like bilaterals. But is there an example of one that the U.S. has negotiated or signed that you like in recent history?”

    Mr. Trump: “No.”

    Mr. Gigot: “The Colombia deal, the Korea deal, the Australia deal?”

    Mr. Trump: “No, I don’t like any of them. I think we’re bad negotiators.”

    It’s pretty much impossible to be a “100% free-trader” and not support any trade liberalizing agreement.

    The rest of the interview is depressing reading for any trade policy wonk. He proposes threatening a trade war with China to obtain unspecified concessions from Beijing, a policy that would likely be an economic and political disaster. In the interview, Trump demonstrates zero knowledge about the World Trade Organization specifically or international trade in general. All of this is, unfortunately, consistent with Trump’s Big Lie about the global economy.

    So to sum up: Trump has lied so many times about so many things during the past week that it’s difficult to keep track of all of them. But it doesn’t matter whether one focuses on Trump’s attitudes about crime or American Muslims or trade policy. He lies about all of these issues. And he will continue to lie as long as it works for him.

    That’s what liars do.

    Looks like the totally unbiased factcheckers are repeatedly lying:eek:. Shocking, I know

    In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners' plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river.

    Wouldn't you know it? Another lie. Trump never tweeted any graphic, he retweeted something sent him, which had two numbers mixed up. That's not a lie, it's a simple error. The only lie there are the factcheckers once again being dishonest

    Even if that is accurate, "a number" doesn't equal the thousands Herr Trump claims.

    So because he doesn't like the free trade deals we've negotiated (and what sane person could) it means he's lying about being a supporter of trade in well-negotiated deals? :jj:

    To sum it up: There has not been one lie shown, except for the lies of the totally agenda-less factcheckers :rolleyes:
    The fact that they so frequently label Trump a liar only shows how dishonest and desperate the media are to try to stop America's savior, Donald J Trump

    Wow, Seth Meyers just stripped down Donald Trump’s lies and Islamophobia so clearly even your racist uncle will get it now
    Wednesday, Nov 25, 2015 11:12 AM PST
    "When confronted about his lies, he doubles down," Meyers says, before answering back with reality VIDEO

    [IMG]
    “Late Night” host Seth Meyers was on fire Tuesday night when he lit up Donald Trump for spending the weekend lying to justify his racism and Islamophobia.

    Trump swears that he saw Muslims in New Jersey celebrating on 9/11, a claim that Meyers says has been universally debunked. “But even when he was confronted about the lie by George Stephanopoulos, Trump stood his ground,” Meyers said. He then ran the clip of Trump doubling down saying that he saw it with his own eyes.

    You Might Also Like
    “But let’s remember Trump also said he met Vladimir Putin when they were on the same episode of ’60 Minutes’ even though they filmed their segments thousands of miles apart. So, Trump’s understanding about how TV works is not entirely trustworthy.”

    Meyers said it would be like Trump claiming he knew the Dallas Cowboys really well because just that weekend they played a game in his living room.

    Trump even quoted a Washington Post report that alleged that “these people” were celebrating in the streets, however, the reporters who wrote the story have now come out saying that 1.) they never said hundreds or thousands of people were celebrating and 2.) the reporter could never verify the report.

    Of course, Trump doesn’t care about any of that. “When confronted about his lies, he doubles down,” Meyers said. “And much like the KFC Double Down, each one is getting harder to digest. Because, Washington Post article or not, Trump claimed to have seen these events with his own eyes.”

    Trump then started tweeting out this blatantly racist chart with false crime statistics.
    [IMG]

    “The chart falsely claimed that the percentage of whites killed by blacks is 81 percent when, in fact, it’s actually 15 percent according to the FBI,” Meyers said. “And I know from watching Dateline that the remaining 85 percent of whites are killed by husbands with boats.” The source for the chart as you can see on the bottom says “Crime Statistics Bureau of San Francisco” which isn’t even real. “The second problem is that it came originally from a Twitter account that used neo-Nazi images and described Hitler as ‘…the Austrian chap with the little mustache.’ Which is, of course, how Hitler described himself on his Tinder profile.”

    Trump then quadrupled down on Fox News’ “O’Reilly Factor.” “When your defense is you didn’t tweet it, you retweeted it, you’re beyond doubling down,” Meyers said. “But if you’re waiting for Trump to apologize for anything he’s said, don’t hold your breath.” Apparently, the last thing he apologized for was too many years ago to remember. “He probably forgot, because he has too many things to remember that didn’t happen.”
